I’m eating real food and not losing weight! If you’re not sure how much is the right amount for you, get an appointment with one of our coaches on your schedule. Your body needs to trust that you are going to continue fueling it with the macro and micronutrients that it needs, and that you’re not going to starve it like you may have in the past. So, as you start eating this way, your body may hold onto the nutrients it’s given and may not lose weight right away. If this step is taken too soon, then your body may not trust you just yet and you’ll risk your body holding onto the food you give it when you do eat again, putting you back into that vicious cycle of restricting and gaining weight. If it’s getting all of your work done so that you can get to bed on time, then you may need to reprioritize and figure out a way to be more efficient throughout the day or remove some things off your plate. You can find this out the hard way, losing sleep and wasting money along the way, or make the commitment for your health and weight loss goals up front.) Lastly, some of our clients are still sacrificing sleep for exercise — a huge no-no, as this messes up your hormonal balance which is critical for weight loss, and since we now know that it’s not all about burning calories, it’s not helpful to lose sleep just to clock in your time on the treadmill. In this case, we’d simply have you swap your fruit for veggies more often that not. How I Lost Weight Eating Real Food More Than Ever

These are a fun, sporty pair of pants from the Gap that I’ve had for a number of years. And realizing how big these pants are now confirmed to me that this time I’ve reached a new milestone – this is real weight loss that works in real life with real food. Just right for me and where my body wants to be- when it’s being fed real food. My 35 lbs. Weight Loss Without Exercise or Counting Calories

After I had my two kids, I had horrible back pain, and I began to feel dizzy a lot. After 2 back surgeries and countless doctors, I felt like I had no help from the medical world at all. It was very difficult to care for my family, and I knew that there had to be something I could do to feel better. Okay, maybe I cared a little, but STILL it was more important to feel strong and healthy. I heard my sister-in-law was doing a juice feast to heal her body, and I became interested because at that point I was willing to try anything to feel better. Feasting on juice was great in detoxing me from sugar, white flour, and junk food. I only lost 8 pounds, but I was also able to detox from pain medication and junk food. I don’t usually recommend this for other people and here’s why: I don’t think the minimal nutrients in fruit and vegetable juices necessarily help my body as much as the avoidance of all processed foods during that 30 day juice cleanse. For all the benefits, my body definitely suffered during that juice cleanse. Now I understand that I would have experienced a suitable cleanse just from eating homemade foods and avoiding anything processed or packaged or chemical-laden. Can You Lose Weight (or Keep from Gaining Weight) When Eating Whole Foods? Before I begin this post, I want to say this:  Being “skinny” is sooo big fat not the goal when it comes to eating a whole foods diet. Can I lose weight while eating whole foods?”  or “How do you stay slim while eating such a high fat diet?” or “I want to start eating real foods, but I’m afraid of gaining weight.” For as long as I can remember, we have been told from experts that eating a high fat diet is bad for us. In addition, does that mean that eating “food substitutes” like margarine, egg beaters, and the like is the healthier way to go? And if so, why are so many who are eating these low fat, “healthier” foods still struggling with their weight or developing additional health issues? Here’s what I learned while eating a “low fat or fat free” diet for many years:  Any time I got into patterns of over-eating – even if it was food that was low in fat – I struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. Once I began eating a real food diet, which is higher in real fat – real butter, real cream, whole milk, real sour cream, whole milk yogurt, eggs, beef, lamb (along with whole grains and lots of fruits and veggies) – I found that these foods are so satisfying that my body wasn’t consistently craving what it wasn’t getting! So can you eat whole foods that are naturally high in fat and maintain a healthy weight, or even lose weight if you need to? Once they gave up eating processed foods, and even “low fat foods” and began to instead eat a diet of unprocessed, whole foods – the extra pounds just fell off! And I can tell you that for myself, after 15 years of following the latest diet trends (low fat, calorie counting, etc) in an effort to “not gain weight” – eating a diet of real, whole foods (going on eight years now) has been the easiest way I’ve experienced to maintain a healthy weight.
