One of the things that sets this book apart is the recipes. Hopefully he/she will be healthy and not have to deal with the weight issues that I did growing up. I've pretty much read just about every diet book out there, and I like this one the best. I have tried SO many diets in the quest for ultimate health-vegan, macrobiotic, raw food, and this. My husband, a confirmed meat-eater, even enjoys the recipes I cook out of this book and the new Eat Clean Cookbook. If you lack a open mind and discipline, then this book is not for you. However, if you are tired of being unhealthy, truely ready to change your life, and willing to apply the basic principals of eating cleaning then this book is a must have. While the diet is certainly not bad for you, it is not new and most people will find it restrictive. This book does a great job of breaking down what to buy at the grocery store, how to store your foods, and other behaviors that will help with clean eating. It's worth buying and worth having but I don't agree with everything written in the book. It will get rid of the junk food you've probably been eating and get you to eat things that actually benefit you.
