24, 2012 - Thirty minutes of exercise a day may be the magic number to lose weight. The high-exercise group was instructed to exercise hard enough to produce a sweat, like from running or cycling, for 60 minutes a day. The moderate group only had to sweat for 30 minutes a day. The men who exercised 30 minutes a day lost an average of 2 pounds more of body weight than those who worked out for an hour. In contrast, the men who exercised 60 minutes a day lost less body weight relative to the energy they burned during their workouts. The extra 30 minutes of exercise did not appear to provide any additional weight loss in body weight or fat. Researchers say the results suggest that 30 minutes of exercise a day may provide additional weight loss benefits. In addition, researchers say the men who exercised for 60 minutes a day probably ate more to compensate for the longer workout session and therefore lost less weight.
To get used to your new workout routine and exercise movements, while allowing your body to adjust, you can stick to machines for the first 15 days. You can have one in the morning and one in the evening, or any other way you like. You will exclude all dairy products from your diet [pretty please]. Your goal by day 30 is to execute 9 different exercises with 3 sets of 12 repetitions for each exercise. Your First Day at the Gym. You only did one set of 9 exercises for that first day to familiarize yourself with the equipment and process. By day 30 you will do 3 sets of each exercise. You will rest for three days then head on down to the gym once more on day 5. You will do the same exercises and sets as for day 1 with only one set of 12 exercises in each set. This day you will increase the weight a little, say about 10-15% or a dumbbell from 10 pounds to 11 or 12 pounds. This day is the same as day 9, except for one change; you don't rest longer than 2 minutes between exercises. On day 17 you will take a step up with the introduction of a second set of the same exercises. You will do 9 exercises with two sets of 12 repetitions for each exercise. You deserve a break, so you will now rest for 4 days before the next session on day 22. On day 22 we will consolidate with 9 exercises and 2 sets of 12 repetitions for each. Day 26. This is it: This is the day you reach your sets and reps goal. On this day you will do 3 sets of 12 at effort 8 or 9 out of 10 for the final repetition in each set.
